Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 July 2026

Clara ("we", "us") is a learning app that teaches mental models. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Send us a message.

What we collect

What we don't store: the free-text answers and notes you write in the app stay in your browser's local storage only — they are not sent to or kept on our servers.

How we use it

Third parties we use

We do not sell your personal data, and we don't share it except as needed to run the service or where required by law.

Storage & security

Your data is stored on our own server (a VPS) in a database that is not publicly accessible. We use HTTPS for all traffic and keep credentials server-side. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Cookies & local storage

We use one first-party session cookie to keep you signed in (it's httpOnly, so scripts can't read it) and your browser's local storage to cache app state and your written notes. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

Children

Clara is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.
